Jared A says... Amazing little theatre in old town leesburg, cheap ticket prices and more resonably priced concessions. Went to see a movie but I am very interested in coming back to catch a comedy show. It was really nice not having to sit through 20 mins of car and cell phone commercials before the previews even started.

TED GARBER is a genre-bending multi-instrumentalist whose BluesAmericanaRock style combines classic showmanship with a captivating singer-songwriter sensibility. His smoky, bluesy vocals, howling harmonica riffs, and screaming guitar licks are enticing audiences worldwide. A DC native, Garber’s music is a combination of three major inspirations—his late folk musician father, the New Orleans rhythm and blues scene, and his love of travel, culture and language.
Garber began playing professionally when he was 19 years old, during his days as a student at Tulane University in New Orleans. He got his start busking on street corners before breaking in to the New Orleans live scene. Following in the footsteps of his late father Holly Garber, a popular DC-area musician, he has gone on to perform in more than a dozen states and thirty countries, packing venues as diverse as DC’s legendary 9:30 Club, the Viper Room in Los Angeles and Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe.
In 2006 he was named DC’s Top Entertainer by WUSA-Channel 9 and won On Tap Magazine’s Battle of the Bands ʻTaste of Arlingtonʼ Competition. In 2010 he was selected as one of Strathmore’s Performing Artists in Residence. He was awarded the 2010 Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) “Pop Recording of the Year” Award for his critically acclaimed album, American Rail. “It’s hard to blend blues, jazz, and roots rock together to create anything that really and truly works, but somehow Ted Garber has mixed these diverse sounds together to form his latest album, a 10-track masterpiece.” raved On Tap Magazine.
About This Local Business
Downtown theatres are a throw back to the golden ages of Hollywood. Seeing the marquee letters being changed to put up the next feature coming to town was always a thrill. Then came the mega theatres that carried none of the charm and class, but plenty of cost and frustration. Tally Ho Theatre in downtown Leesburg keeps that old school ambiance of days gone by right in our own community.
The Tally Ho is an historic twin theatre. While the venue showcases first-run feature films, it also plays host to movie theme nights, live comedy, magic and musical acts, as well as private events. Check out their merchandise to show your support for a true local independent theatre. Keep an eye out for the changes coming in 2011 as well. Maybe if your comedy is up to snuff, you might be the coming feature attraction!
"I'd much rather go to Tally Ho than any of the other theaters in the area.It is close by, cheaper, the employee are friendly, they have discounted children's movies. Plus it is not a franchise, it is a local business! " Yahoo Review "We love the Tally Ho Theatre in beautiful historic Leesburg. They have great first run movies. It is quick and convenient for us and we love the family movies that they show!!"
